About the Workshop

The 1st International Workshop on Teaching AI-based Translation and Technologies (TAITT 2026) is the first dedicated forum focusing on pedagogy, curriculum design, and professional training in the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-driven translation technologies.

2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the first workshop on teaching machine translation, held at MT Summit VII, which Kenny (2020) identifies as "the beginning of systematic thinking about the teaching of translation technology".

Since then, translation education has undergone profound technological, social, and pedagogical transformation. Today, teachers and trainers must integrate a vast and growing range of content—from machine learning fundamentals to data literacy, MT evaluation, CAT tools, and Large Language Models (LLMs)—while also fostering critical thinking and combating technological hype.

TAITT brings together researchers, educators, industry practitioners, and translators to address these challenges collaboratively. The workshop welcomes contributions that explore how AI-based translation and technologies can be taught effectively across academic, professional, and industry contexts, and how curricula can be adapted to ensure that future translators, linguists, and language professionals develop the necessary competencies for working with modern MT systems and LLMs.

About the Workshop

The "Gender-Inclusive Translation Technologies Workshop" (GITT) is the only dedicated workshop that focuses on gender-inclusive language in translation and cross-lingual scenarios. The workshop aims to bring together researchers from diverse areas, including industry partners, MT practitioners and language professionals. GITT aims to encourage multidisciplinary research that develops and interrogates both solutions and challenges for addressing bias and promoting gender inclusivity in MT and translation tools, including LLM applications for the translation task.

About the Workshop

StyGenAI is the first workshop dedicated specifically to the study of style in GenAI-translated content. Hosted at EAMT 2026, the workshop provides a focused forum for examining how large language models shape translated texts, how their outputs differ from both human translation and traditional MT, and how stylistic patterns emerge, stabilise, or drift across genres, languages, and prompting strategies.

While recent advances in Generative AI have significantly improved fluency and surface quality in translation, questions of style remain under-theorised and under-evaluated. StyGenAI addresses this gap by bringing together researchers and practitioners working on AI translation stylistics, evaluation methodologies, and impact of style on translators' practice as a result of human–AI interaction.

The workshop welcomes empirical, methodological, and conceptual contributions that explore stylistic regularities, deviations, and innovations in AI-generated translation, with particular attention to genre, language pair, prompting design, and human judgement.
